52. Future plans of the department.<br />

As per the mandates of the School of Management as highlighted in the vision<br />

and mission statement of the university in the Detailed Project Report, the<br />

School plans to evolve as an institution of higher learning in terms of teaching<br />

and research in Management. Towards this, the medium and longer terms<br />

plans of the School are as highlighted below.<br />

Short-Term/ Medium Term Plans:<br />

(a) To equip the School with the state of the art teaching and research facilities<br />

in terms of organised and independent library, computer labs.<br />

(b) To build capacities of the students of the School to get placed in<br />

remunerative jobs so that a better profile of the School is created in due<br />

course.<br />

(c) To proactively search for opportunities of partnership with different<br />

government agencies both at the state and the national level to ensure<br />

participation of the School in policy making processes in the country.<br />

Long term Goals<br />

To evolve as one of the top institutions of learning and research in<br />

Management in the country and to get good rankings in the national ratings for<br />

departments imparting education in Management.<br />

To eventually evolve as a research institution in fundamental and applied<br />

economic research and to realign the programmes to have more research<br />

orientation.<br />

To emerge as an active partner of the Government of Uttarakhand in economic<br />

and social policy making processes.<br />
