Technology Centre Systems Program – <strong>Draft</strong> DPR for New TC at Rohtak<br />

► Skilled CNC operators are in great<br />

demand.<br />

► Defence firms are planned to start<br />

manufacturing plant in Rohtak<br />

which will be a great opportunity for<br />

MSMEs.<br />

► Low cost Automation training and<br />

chemical/mechanical/metallurgy<br />

lab facility at proposed TC will<br />

support the MSMEs in the region.<br />

► Looking at the significant number<br />

of retired Army personnel, as<br />

industry readiness training can be<br />

offered by the TC to utilise their<br />

talent.<br />

► Maintenance facility and training<br />

courses would help the TC in<br />

overcoming day today maintenance<br />

issues.<br />

► Key industries in Ambala are<br />

Scientific Instruments and<br />

manufacturer of mixers.<br />

► No. of scientific instrument<br />

manufacturing units is<br />

approximately 1300-1400<br />

► Total revenue of the industry is<br />

approx. 1400-2000cr per year.<br />

► The firms have latest lathe milling<br />

and painting machines. There are<br />

around 40-50 CNC machines in<br />

Ambala.<br />

► 50% of the revenue comes from<br />

export of scientific equipment’s.<br />

35% from supply of scientific<br />

equipment to educational institutes<br />

in India and rest 15% from industry.<br />

► Quality measurement centres such<br />

as ITDC were present earlier but<br />

presently manufacturer themselves<br />

test quality of their products with<br />

secondary calibrated equipment.<br />

Hence presence of Quality marking<br />

centres may increase value of the<br />

export oriented products.<br />

► Most of the units manufacturing<br />

scientific equipment do not have<br />

access to latest technology but they<br />

have skilled manpower who have<br />

been involved in this work from<br />

generations.<br />

► Sector does not show the capacity<br />

to predict latest trend in the<br />

industry and they generally do<br />
