Selection of Rohtak location for setting up of new TC<br />

As per the location selection framework and subsequent approval in the 4 th PSC meeting held on 15 th<br />

May 14, Rohtak was selected as the location for setting up of new General Engineering TC focus.<br />

Rohtak region has been found suitable from multiple perspectives:<br />

► Rohtak is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR) which provides various immediate benefits<br />

for the district.<br />

► Rohtak has very good connectivity with other key districts in Haryana and other states. There<br />

are 3 National Highways including NH10 which connects it to Delhi. The nearest airport is Indira<br />

Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.<br />

► MSME units present in Rohtak region operates in sectors such as automobiles, general<br />

engineering (fasteners, machined components, hinges, pipes and steel furniture etc.), repairing<br />

and services leather and wooden furniture etc.<br />

► Industrial projects proposals entailing investment of INR 3,000 crore are planned for Rohtak.<br />

These include projects from Suzuki and Amul. Footwear park in Bahadurgarh will be supported<br />

by the TC as there are large shoe manufacturing units operate from the park.<br />

► There are various clusters around Rohtak such as footwear and plastic cluster in Jhajjar, Auto<br />

ancillary clusters in Gurgaon & Faridabad, scientific instrument cluster in Ambala, Foundry<br />

cluster in Panipat and Agriculture implements in Karnal etc. which can be supported by the TC.<br />
