RUSSIA 7330 Voice of Russia, at 1155-1205 UT. Prior to the hour, heard
the tone signal that VOR usually transmits before their scheduled
transmission. The interesting observation of this was there were two tones
being transmitted. One was on 7329.170 kHz and the other was on 7330.836
kHz both on and off. In the meantime, a steady carrier remained on
7330.000 kHz. On the hour, both the side tones ceased and the regular
schedule programming began with news in Russian on 7330.000 kHz. The tones
when they were transmitting, were at a good level, however, the program
signal was very poor when it began on the hour.
9605 on 18 Nov at 1746 UTC, CLAN, Voice of Meselna Delina heard in
presumed Tigrinya (sounds a lot like Arabic to me) with east African music
and long talks by a woman. Went to pop music at 1759 UT for about ten
seconds and then left the air. Something left at the end of the tape,
maybe. About ten seconds after the transmitter left the air, the BBC came
up in French. Excellent signals from Samara, Russia with no QRM and some
minor fading.
7290/7330 Vo Russia Moscow in English service to WeEUR, played excellent
classical music. Logged at 2150 UT Nov 19, 7290 S=9+40dB powerhouse hits
the needle, and even much stronger too on // 7330 kHz with tremendous
S=9+50dB, both from Moscow Taldom site.
7340 Voice of Russia Novosibirsk-Oyash sce in Spanish and Portuguese
2100-2300 UT. TX is in very bad shape and audio distorted all the time in
