As to R. Familia's webpage, I found no match for the 2210 UT news
bulletins in:
Prior to that 2210 UT newscast y/day, the sort of music was, apparently,
untypical of countries to the south; it sounded more like the one heard on
the Senegal, Guinea region which has more common ties with Mali.

Glenn, I was about to send an e-mail to say that I believe the station on
4900 kHz is from Guinea. Was able to see the latest dxld first to find
that this is indeed the case. I was able to record several hours the other
night and what I hear matches your reports from Europe. Reception is much
poorer than good signal on 7125 kHz which is not in parallel.
Some highlights from recording on May 12:
2157 very brief ID which does sound like "Familia"
2220 news style jingle and international news in French (until 2240).
2245 announcement in local language mentioning several different names
each preceded by "Radio" (perhaps this is a programme carried by several
different stations?)
2301 few minutes of French talk with many mentions of "camara" and of
"capitale Conakry" ending with musical jingle and the word "Familia"
2331 continuous music until 0004, tx off at 0005
By the way, I am still hearing Cameroon on 6005 during local daytime
hours.

GUYANA 3289.98 V.O. Guyana at 0824-0847 UT nonstop M vcl Hindi mx. A
couple short tlks later. 0847 UT nice canned V.O. Guyana ID w/AM and FM
stereo freqs by M over "Caribbean Queen" by Billy Ocean. 0848-0854 UT
choral songs. 0854 UT ad, then what sounded like an inspirational tlk
segment w/a lot of voice-over chatter by live M anncr over the same Jazz
song repeated over and over. 0908 UT farming PSA, then more of the same
