A-10 season - 7.1 to 7.2 MHz ham radio range.
And re operations OOB - the band edges now appear to be very blurred, and
I think it was Glenn who remarked that stations now seem to broadcast
where they want to as long as there is no protest about it. And the HFCC
appears to condone it by registering use of such frequencies. There was
information for broadcasters via the HFCC concerning the 7100-7200 part of
41m, and that it was now a ham band, but some Frequency Managers appear
not to have read it.
However, most have now complied, and I would guess that Ethiopia and
Eritrea would shift out of the 7100-7200 segment of the band if there
wasn't a radio war going on. I would question if it is legitimate for a
broadcaster to use 7200. Maybe if it used USB only, but in AM the signal
will spread below 7200 kHz. It was obvious that by reducing the 7 MHz
broadcast band by 100 kHz, and not allocating a similar amount elsewhere,
that broadcasters would simply move to the top end of the band OOB, where
many were operating already.
