TVNZ Story About RNZ Problems.
The radio station owned by taxpayers and listened to by hundreds of
thousands of New Zealanders is heading for a major showdown with the
government. ONE News can reveal the chairwoman and board members of Radio
New Zealand could face the sack, if they continue to defy requests to cut
costs. Radio New Zealand's programmes have made broadcasters like Sean
Plunket and Kim Hill into household names.
RNZ costs taxpayers about $38 million a year, but its funding is frozen
and may remain so for five years ...
Radical options for Radio NZ.
A directive from the New Zealand Government to Radio New Zealand to cut
costs has been discussed in Parliament today.
Various options have been floated so far but one that might be great for
New Zealand MW DXer's (but not so great for Overseas DXers trying to log
them) is
"going off air after midnight until 6 am has been floated by Radio New
Zealand bosses as they fronted a Parliamentary select committee hearing
today".
I presume this may only be for domestic MW/FM services but could affect
RNZI SW.

SERBIA Radio Valjevo on 1368 kHz - e-mail nach 3 Tagen via
v/s Svetomir (er schreibt, er ist 76 Jahre alt). Er bittet auch um
Berichte fuer Beograd 202 auf 1503 kHz. Seine Funktion ist mir nicht ganz
klar, aber er bestaetigt - sehr erfreulich).
Beograd 202 on MW 1503 kHz - nd e-mail, diese aber nach 2 Tagen von
v/s Vesna Tesic, Editor.
