making it to S9 on peaks. Had to listen through several ID cycles to get<br />

this. Wonder if the propagation is via the Southern Ocean, Indian Ocean,<br />

or over Antarctica? (I'm guessing this is long path via the Indian Ocean.)<br />

SL<strong>BC</strong> is transmitting to India on 7190 kHz, from 0025-0500 and 0800-1230<br />

UT.<br />

Well those are just old registrations carried on for A-10 season. I can<br />

assure you that 90% of those are not used, other than for 7200 kHz.<br />

Sri Lankan national broadcaster SL<strong>BC</strong> has started relaying B<strong>BC</strong> World radio<br />

on FM band. The relaying starts the B<strong>BC</strong> English, Sinhala and Tamil<br />

programmes after a 14 month break. The B<strong>BC</strong> suspended its rebroadcast in<br />

February last year.<br />

The B<strong>BC</strong> programmes were suspended in February last year "following<br />

deliberate interference in its broadcasts," B<strong>BC</strong> said in a statement.<br />

During the suspension, the B<strong>BC</strong>'s services in all three languages remained<br />

available in Sri Lanka via short wave; on bbc.com/news, bbcsinhala.com and<br />

bbctamil.com via the Internet; and news bulletins in English via the Sri<br />

Lankan commercial broadcaster M<strong>BC</strong>.<br />

Director of B<strong>BC</strong> Global News Peter Horrocks said that the B<strong>BC</strong> wishes to<br />

rebuild its partnership with SL<strong>BC</strong>.<br />

"We have been reassured by SL<strong>BC</strong> that our contractual agreement will be<br />

respected, which guarantees that our programmes in English, Sinhala, and<br />

Tamil are broadcast uninterrupted," he said. Mr. Horrocks added that the<br />

B<strong>BC</strong> audiences value the editorial intergrity of its programming.<br />
