1630 UT in Somali. SINPO 34433. Opening with music & ID as "Halkani waa
Radio Bar-Kulan ..." Koran recitation at 1602 UT, followed by talk by
woman & local songs.

SRI LANKA Heard daily in ?Sinhala from 1630 UT on 11750 kHz and splashes
from 1657 kHz Mon-Fri from REE in Ru on 11755 kHz. At 1630 UT the prgr is
s/on directly from Home Sce without any IS and ID. (Mar 8-11)

SURINAM 4990 R. Apintie again decently hrd on March 7 from 0425 tune
with the usual pop vocals to past 0700 UT and ocnl short com'l segments -
one tune I recognized at 0522 UT was "My Heart Will Go On" (the Titanic
love theme) by Celine Dion. Much better than avg reception here w/ steady
S2 signal (S5-6 on the Perseus S-Meter) and good audio mod - ocnl peaks to
S3. No QRM and vy little noise. R. Apintie is usually all carrier and not
much audio at this QTH. Perseus spectrum showed R. Apintie at a noticeably
better lvl than R. Brasil Central on 4985 kHz - a rarity.

SYRIA 9330 Strong audio on 9330 kHz for German 1800-1900 and French
1900-2000 and low audio for 1630-1700 Tu, 1700-1800 Ru and 2100- ? En on
Mar 8. Better quality sound was on MW 783 kHz 1830-1900 in Ru. On Mar 10th
from 1824 UT began a prgr "Briefkasten" (Letterbox) in German on 9330 kHz.
Nothing observed on 12085 kHz maybe due to the conditions?. Often in the
background on 9330 kHz is heard also additional prgr maybe from some TV
prgr in Syria.
