INDONESIA 954 RRI Kendari.
Google Earth imagery. Some high resolution place. Another GE image update.
I happened to drive past the MW/SW transmitter site of RRI Kendari last
week on the way out to the airport. The site is in the village of Lepo-
Lepo.
The MW mast for 954 kHz is clear enough in GE at 04 01 06S, 122 30 19E .
The SW antenna can be seen from the road, but I can't make it out for sure
in the GE image; actually besides the MW mast and a self-supporting tower
carrying the VHF antenna for the STL, there are four small masts in the
site. Two of these look to be old and probably out of use, while others in
better condition support the SW dipole. From the road, all four of these
masts appear to be close to the transmitter building,
IRAQ/IRAN On Nov 24th (and in other bc times also) there were 3 txs on
the air at 1415 UT but the new one was that on 3932 kHz was VOKurdistan 1
and on 3971 // 4881 kHz VOKurdistan 2. Both stations are with same name
"Voice of Kurdistan" but VOK1 belongs to the Working party and VOK2 - to
?Socialist party? in Iran. Both jammed.
