Re: Ukraine off SW again?
At 2258 UT recheck the English on 7440 kHz has turned out to be Radio
Ukraine International, wrapping up programme, followed by Ukrainian from
2300 UT. Usual faint and fading, backscatter-like signal here.
6145: Described transmission wrapped up at 2259 UT, followed again by
interrupted test tones. Then at 2300 UT out of the blue Sackville
crash-started with CRI English, wiping out anything else even here in
Europe.
[later] 6145. Frequency before 2200 completely covered by Issoudun, with
remarkable buzz in the audio, presumably from the CRI studio. Cut off at
2156, unmasking a faint mess of fast SAH, with the dominating signal
carrying Soviet-style run-up tones of a rather high pitch, which suggests
that it could be indeed a Tbilisskaya signal. Programming started at
2200 UT, probably in Russian, but I can not tell real details.
Anyway there does not appear to be a transmission from the Ukraine,
neither from a capable nor from a less capable facility, unless a now
hopelessly deteriorated KHR site makes a futile attempt to transmit.
2200-0200 on 7440 LV 500 kW / 303 deg to NAm En/Ukr/En/Ukr
When first doing so at 2147 UT an open carrier was already on. At 2159 UT
Voice of Russia program audio with interval signal emerged, then I
switched to 6145 kHz to hear what comes on there (to no avail, see above).
When returning to 7440 it had become an unrecognizable mess of two
signals, almost drowned out by much stronger Galbeni on 7435 (which has
some crackling in the audio; tsk, still old equipment in the chain)? At
2215 UT recheck I think that the mess on 7440 kHz contains a signal in
Russian and one in English, but it's just impossible to make out program
styles.
Radio Ukraine International and Voice of Russia English and German via
Ukraine tx on July 19-20, 2010.
Hi Aleksandr, herewith included three recordings of tonight, of
1 - 7440 at 1900 UT,
2 - 7440 at 1957 UT,
3 - and 6145 kHz at 1959 ... 2001 UT.
7440 was totally covered by CRI Xian signal in Hungarian and from 1930 UT
Romanian, and RUI English underneath.
Only at 1957...1958 UT a short piece of RUI Kharkiv signal was heard at
S=9+5dB level, when Xian tx went OFF air.
