P<strong>BC</strong>'s South Asian Broadcast Services.<br />

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nawabzada Malik Ammad Khan<br />

inaugurated P<strong>BC</strong>'s South Asian Broadcast Services under which programmes in<br />

three more languages: Nepali, Sinhala and Tamil had been launched.<br />

Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation is already broadcasting programmes in<br />

seven languages including Bangla, Hindi, Chinese, Gujarati, Pashto, Dari<br />

and Farsi. Induction of three more services would make the number of<br />

foreign services to ten.<br />

Yes - it's usual for there to be lot's of alternatives registered, but<br />

never used. As we know, this can lead to confusion and unwanted QRM. (NG)<br />

The Frequency manager of Radio Pakistan informs me that they will once<br />

again broadcast in Nepali, Sinhala and Tamil from February 1st. The<br />

existing schedule between 0900 and 1330 UT via API-3 & 4 will be replaced<br />

with:<br />

0900-1000 Bangla 9375 11570 (alt.15630)<br />

1000-1030 Nepali 9375 11570 new<br />
