In addition, when a priority is configured, it is typical to configure a preempt comm<strong>and</strong> to<br />

ensure that the active router is consistent after a network change. In Example 3-113, a<br />

priority of 200 is configured in addition to a preempt.<br />

Caution<br />

Preempt in VRRP does not support a delay mechanism similar to HSRP <strong>and</strong> also is<br />

enabled by default.<br />

Verifying VRRP Configuration<br />

A quick method to use to see the current state of the VRRP configuration is to use the show<br />

vrrp comm<strong>and</strong>, as demonstrated in Example 3-114. The output displays all the parameters<br />

configured in Example 3-113, such as priority, preempt, <strong>and</strong> IP address.<br />
