LISP Prerequisites
Figure 13-1. LISP Components
The following hardware and software requirements need to be fully understood before
deploying LISP on the Nexus 7000 for host mobility:
• LISP was first introduced on the Nexus 7000 with NX-OS software release 5.2.1; it is
recommended to start with a minimum of NX-OS 5.2.7.
• From a Nexus point of view, LISP is supported only on the N7K-M132XP-12 and in
N7K-M132XP-12L modules. It is the M1-32 module that can perform the LISP
encapsulation/decapsulation in hardware.
Note
The Nexus 3000, Nexus 5000, and Nexus 5500 do not support LISP.
• It is highly recommended to run the latest electronic programmable logic device
(EPLD) images on the M1-32 modules to support LISP.
