GLBP Priority and Preempt
NX-OS supports the capability to configure different GLBP priorities. In GLBP, the priority
determines the AVG for each group. The AVG is responsible for assigning virtual MAC
addresses to each member of the GLBP group including itself. This enables each router to
have an AVF that is responsible for forwarding traffic directed to its virtual MAC address.
The default priority is 100.
In Example 3-121, a priority of 200 is configured in addition to a preempt that uses the
capability to wait a specified amount of time before preempting for the AVG role.
