Configuring PIM Join and Prune Policies
NX-OS enables the network administrator to specify-interface level PIM join and prune
policies that provide a means to controlling traffic in a granular method. By either permitting
or denying PIM join and prune messages, the network administrator can develop a specific
topology and pathing through a network for multicast. In Example 4-22, a simple policy is
applied to Ethernet 4/7 on N7K-1-Core1 to filter PIM join and prune messages for
239.100.10.1/32 and permit all others.
