When PIM sparse mode is enabled on all interfaces that need to participate in multicast, the<br />

next step is to configure the RPs. As previously discussed, multiple methods of RP<br />

configuration exist.<br />

Configuring Static RPs<br />

The first configuration methodology for RPs is static RP. Example 4-3 illustrates the steps<br />

required to configure a static RP on Router N7K-1-Core1.<br />
