The first step to configure MSDP is to enable it in global configuration mode using the<br />

feature comm<strong>and</strong>. With the modular nature of NX-OS, using the feature comm<strong>and</strong> loads the<br />

MSDP modular code into memory for execution. The MSDP feature will not be resident in<br />

memory without first being enabled. This is advantageous because it preserves memory<br />

resources in the router when a feature is not used. In Example 4-18, MSDP is enabled as a<br />

feature on Router N7K-1-Core1, as depicted in Figure 4-9.<br />
