Murtaddeen, he instructed <strong>the</strong> commanders saying, 'When you hear <strong>the</strong> Adhaan<br />

in a town that you surround, take no action until you question <strong>the</strong>m about<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir grievances. However, if you do not hear <strong>the</strong> Adhaan, you should launch<br />

your attack, fight <strong>the</strong>m, burn <strong>the</strong>ir property and be inexhaustible in inflicting<br />

casualties so that <strong>the</strong>y see that <strong>the</strong> demise <strong>of</strong> your Nabi @%$ has brought no<br />

weakness in you." ('1<br />

Hadhrat Zuhri narrates that when Hadhrat Abu Bakr 3Gw<br />

dispatched his<br />

armies against <strong>the</strong> Murtaddeen, he instructed <strong>the</strong>m saying, "Monitor <strong>the</strong>m<br />

overnight and take no action if you hear <strong>the</strong> Adhaan because <strong>the</strong> Adhaan is a<br />

sign <strong>of</strong> Imaan." (2)<br />

Rasulullaah @@ saw that <strong>the</strong> people were few in number, he remain sitting and<br />

did not lead <strong>the</strong> salaah. He would <strong>the</strong>n lead <strong>the</strong> salaah only when he saw a<br />

substantial ga<strong>the</strong>ring. (3)<br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abu Awfa 3,Wj reports that Rasulullaah i$%<br />

wait until he heard <strong>the</strong> sounds <strong>of</strong> people's shoes. (4)<br />

Hadhrat Umar !3G@2j reports that Rasulullaah @?% was busy dispatching an<br />

for salaah and said (to those waiting), "While o<strong>the</strong>r people have performed <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

salaah and left, you people are still waiting for salaah. Take note that you have<br />

remained in salaah (kept earning its rewards) as long as you have been<br />

waiting for it." (5)<br />

<strong>the</strong> Next Salaah after Maghrib and After Zuhr<br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Amr @GWi narrates that after Rasulullaah @% had<br />

performed <strong>the</strong> Maghrib salaah, some people left while o<strong>the</strong>rs remained seated.<br />

Rasulullaah @@ <strong>the</strong>n went to <strong>the</strong>m (those still sitting) and said, "Your Rabb has<br />

opened a door to <strong>the</strong> heavens and is boasting before <strong>the</strong> angels saying, 'My<br />

servants have completed a Fardh and are now waiting for <strong>the</strong> next."'(6)<br />
