Rasulullaah k%% <strong>the</strong>n called for all <strong>the</strong> remaining provisions. While some people<br />

brought only a handful <strong>of</strong> food, o<strong>the</strong>rs managed to bring a little more. <strong>The</strong> most<br />

that anyone brought was a Saa <strong>of</strong> dates. After he had collected all <strong>the</strong> food<br />

toge<strong>the</strong>r, Rasulullaah @$% stood up and made du'aa for some time. <strong>The</strong>reafter,<br />

he summoned <strong>the</strong> army to come with <strong>the</strong>ir utensils and instructed <strong>the</strong>m to take<br />

from <strong>the</strong> food in handfuls. After everyone had filled <strong>the</strong>ir utensils, <strong>the</strong> food was<br />

still as much as it had been. This made Rasulullaah @$% smile so widely that his<br />

teeth actually showed. He <strong>the</strong>n said, "I testify' that <strong>the</strong>re is none worthy <strong>of</strong><br />

worship but Allaah and I testify that I am <strong>the</strong> Rasul <strong>of</strong> Allaah. When a person<br />

meets Allaah after believing in this, he will be screened against <strong>the</strong> fire <strong>of</strong><br />

Jahannam on <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>of</strong> Qiyaamah."<br />

In ano<strong>the</strong>r narration, Hadhrat Abu Khunays Ghifaari %.Wj reports that <strong>the</strong>y<br />

were with Rasulullaah @%% on an expedition to Tihaamah and it was at a place<br />

called Usfaan that <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> @G3w approached Rasulullaah w... <strong>The</strong><br />

narration continues like <strong>the</strong> one above without <strong>the</strong> part stating that Rasulullaah<br />

smiled. <strong>The</strong>reafter, it states that after Rasulullaah @@ gave <strong>the</strong> command<br />

to leave, it started raining and Rasulullaah toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong><br />

i43GWi-j dismounted and drank from <strong>the</strong> water <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> skies. (')<br />

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah %3Gw and Hadhrat Abu Sa'eed Khudri St5Wj both<br />

report that when <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> i@GWj suffered extreme hunger during <strong>the</strong><br />

expedition to Tabook, <strong>the</strong>y approached Rasulullaah saying, "0 Rasulullaah<br />

'&%! Do permit us to slaughter <strong>the</strong> camels we use for drawing water so that we<br />

can have some food and oil." "You may do so," Rasulullaah $@ permitted. It was<br />

<strong>the</strong>n that Hadhrat Umar 3,- intervened.. ." <strong>The</strong> rest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> narration is like <strong>the</strong><br />

one above narrated by Hadhrat Abu Arnrah 5%~j.(~)<br />

Hadhrat Salamah 3.GMj reports, "We were with Rasulullaah @@! in <strong>the</strong> Battle <strong>of</strong><br />

Khaybar when he instructed us to ga<strong>the</strong>r all our provisions <strong>of</strong> dates toge<strong>the</strong>r.<br />

Rasulullaah @% <strong>the</strong>n spread out a lea<strong>the</strong>r tablecloth, on which we spread <strong>the</strong><br />

provisions.out. I <strong>the</strong>n calculated and studied <strong>the</strong> pile, finally estimating it to be<br />

<strong>the</strong> size <strong>of</strong> a sitting goat. We numbered fourteen hundred on that day and after<br />

we had all eaten, I again calculated and studied <strong>the</strong> pile and again estimated it to<br />

be <strong>the</strong> size <strong>of</strong> a sitting goat." <strong>The</strong> narration <strong>the</strong>n continues to mention an incident<br />

<strong>of</strong> blessing in <strong>the</strong>ir water. (4) In ano<strong>the</strong>r narration, Hadhrat Salamah 5Ww says,<br />

"We <strong>the</strong>n ate to our fill and also filled our satchels. (5)<br />

Pg. 114), as has Ibn Sa'd (Vol. l Pg. 180). Abu Nu'aym has reported a similar narration in his Dalaa'il<br />

(Pg. 148) from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah %W&5 and Hadhrat Jaabir %.Wj, as have Muslim, Ahmad<br />

and Nasa'ee, as quoted in AIBidaayah wan Nihaayah (Vo1.6 Pg.113).<br />

(2) Bazzaar and Bayhaqi, as quoted in AlBidaayah wan Nihaayah (Vo1.6 Pg.114). Tabraani has<br />

rep~rted a similar narration in his Awsat, as quoted in Majma'uzZawaa~dfVol.8 Pg.303), as has<br />

Haakim, as quoted in lsaabah (Vo1.4 Pg.53).<br />

(3) Abu Nu'aym in his Dalaa'il (Pg.149). Muslim and o<strong>the</strong>rs has reported a similar narration, as quoted<br />

in A1 Bidaayah wan Nihaayah (Vo1.6 Pg. 114).<br />
