Hadhrat Ziyaad W ,W reports fur<strong>the</strong>r that when a delegation from his tribe<br />

came to Rasulullaah &$& to announce that <strong>the</strong>y had accepted Islaam and were<br />

prepared to follow him, <strong>the</strong>y also said, "0 Rasulullaah w! We have a well<br />

provides adequately for us during winter and we <strong>the</strong>n settle around it. However,<br />

when summer arrives, <strong>the</strong> water is not sufficient for us and we disperse in <strong>the</strong><br />

vicinity to o<strong>the</strong>r watering places. We are unfortunately unable to do this any<br />

longer because everyone around us have become our enemies (because we are<br />

now Muslims). Do pray to Allaah to make our water sufficient for us."<br />

Rasulullaah @% sent for seven stones and when <strong>the</strong>se were brought, he<br />

scattered <strong>the</strong>m in his hands and made a du'aa. <strong>The</strong>reafter, Rasulullaah lk$&<br />

said, 'When you reach your well, take <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> Allaah and throw <strong>the</strong>se<br />

stones in one by one." After <strong>the</strong>y did what Rasulullaah @% told <strong>the</strong>m, (<strong>the</strong><br />

water became so abundant that) <strong>the</strong>y were unable to ever see <strong>the</strong> depth <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

well.<br />

Blessings in <strong>the</strong> Water that Hadhrat Husayn bin<br />

Ali Drank<br />

Hadhrat Abu Awn reports that when Hadhrat Husayn bin Ali W3Wj went from<br />

Madinah to Makkah, he passed by Ibn Mutee who was digging a well ... <strong>The</strong><br />

narration later mentions that Ibn Mutee said to Hadhrat Husayn "I have<br />

drained this well (to fix it) but <strong>the</strong>re are still times when <strong>the</strong> buckets come out<br />

empty. Would you please make du'aa that Allaah blesses it." Hadhrat Husayn<br />

WGw asked for some <strong>of</strong> its water and when it was brought in a bucket, he<br />

took some in his mouth, gargled his mouth and <strong>the</strong>n returned it to <strong>the</strong> well.<br />

After this, <strong>the</strong> water <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> well not only increased, but also became sweeter.(2)<br />

Blessings in Food During Battles<br />

Blessings in <strong>the</strong> food <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mujaahideen by <strong>the</strong><br />

Du'aa <strong>of</strong> Rasulullaah @%<br />

Hadhrat Abu Arnrah Ansaari 4%G5!&3 reports that <strong>the</strong>y were with Rasulullaah<br />

on a military expedition when <strong>the</strong>y started to feel extreme hunger. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong><br />

@,GWj <strong>the</strong>n sought permission from Rasulullaah to slaughter some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

camels, saying, "Allaah will <strong>the</strong>n grant us <strong>the</strong> strength to reach our destination."<br />

However, when Hadhrat Umar 3Gw noticed that Rasulullaah @i% was about<br />

to grant permission to slaughter <strong>the</strong> animals, he intervened by saying, "0<br />

Rasulullaah &I?%! What will happen to us if we have to meet <strong>the</strong> enemy<br />

tomorrow while we are both hungry and (without transport) on foot? If you<br />

agree, 0 Rasulullaah @?&$, you could ra<strong>the</strong>r ask everyone to bring whatever<br />

remaining provisions <strong>the</strong>y have and after collecting all toge<strong>the</strong>r, you could pray<br />

to Allaah to bless it. By our du'aa Allaah will certainly bless us and grant us <strong>the</strong><br />

(I) Abu Nu'ayrn in his Dalaa'il (Pg.147). Bayhaqi, Ahrnad, Abu Dawood, Tirrnidhi and Ibn Maajah have<br />

all reported similar narrations, as quoted in AlBidaayah wan Nihaayah (Vo1.6 Pg.101).<br />
