@% said to Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan 4=, "0 Abu Sufyaan! Accept Islaam and live<br />

in peace." After Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan %EWj accepted Islaam, he proceeded with<br />

Hadhrat Abbaas ?BG4W to his camp. <strong>The</strong> next morning when <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong><br />

@,w rushed to perform wudhu, Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan WWj asked, "What is<br />

<strong>the</strong> matter with <strong>the</strong> people, 0 Abul Fadhl? Have <strong>the</strong>y received an order?" "No,"<br />

replied Hadhrat Abbaas W-, "<strong>the</strong>y are preparing for salaah." Hadhrat Abu<br />

Sufyaan <strong>the</strong>n performed wudhu on <strong>the</strong> instructions <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abbaas<br />

!?%@&j,<br />

who <strong>the</strong>n took him to Rasulullaah @%. Rasulullaah @@ started <strong>the</strong><br />

salaah and when he called out <strong>the</strong> Takbeer, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> @,W followed suit.<br />

<strong>The</strong>y all <strong>the</strong>n made Ruku when Rasulullaah @&! made Ruku and got up again<br />

when Rasulullaah &%! got up. To this, Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan b?&ZW6 remarked,<br />

"To this day have I never seen such discipline from a nation who have been<br />

ga<strong>the</strong>red toge<strong>the</strong>r from such varying backgrounds! Nei<strong>the</strong>r are <strong>the</strong> nobles <strong>of</strong><br />

Persia nor <strong>the</strong> long-established Romans as well disciplined as this!" Addressing<br />

Hadhrat Abbaas 3,G&W5, he said fur<strong>the</strong>r, "0 Abul Fadhl! Your nephew has<br />

certainly founded a great kingdom." "It is not a kingdom," Hadhrat Abbaas<br />

4%3&!&j replied, "This is Nubuwwah."<br />

Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration from Hadhrat Maymoona 12&X23 quoted in <strong>the</strong> chapter<br />

discussing <strong>the</strong> Conquest <strong>of</strong> Makkah states that when Rasulullaah @I% got up to<br />

perform wudhu, <strong>the</strong> Muslims would compete to get <strong>the</strong> wudhu water and rub it<br />

on <strong>the</strong>ir faces. To this, Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan 4- remarked, "0 Abul Fadhl!<br />

Your nephew has certainly founded a great kingdom." "It is not a kingdom,"<br />

Hadhrat Abbaas replied, "This is Nubuwwah and it is this that <strong>the</strong> people<br />

are so zealous about." (2)<br />

A narration from Hadhrat Urwa 4W34Z56 states that when Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan<br />

W,w awoke <strong>the</strong> morning after he had spent <strong>the</strong> night with Hadhrat Abbaas<br />

B,w, he saw <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> i4Em (eagerly) preparing for salaah and scattering<br />

about to purify <strong>the</strong>mselves. Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan !ii@l@j became alarmed at this<br />

sight and asked Hadhrat Abbaas W,- what <strong>the</strong> matter was. Hadhrat Abbaas<br />

4W@&5 replied, "<strong>The</strong>y have heard <strong>the</strong> Adhaan and are now scattering about to<br />

prepare for salaah." When salaah commenced and Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan wWi4<br />

saw <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> M,Wj bow and prostrate when Rasulullaah @% did so, he<br />

remarked, "0 Abbaas! Do <strong>the</strong>y do everything he instructs <strong>the</strong>m to do."<br />

"certainly," Hadhrat Abbaas WWj replied, "<strong>the</strong>y would obey Rasulullaah &%<br />

even if he were to command <strong>the</strong>m to forsake <strong>the</strong>ir food and drink." (3)<br />

In <strong>the</strong> chapter discussing <strong>the</strong> enthusiasm Rasulullaah @@ had for salaah, a<br />

narration from Hadhrat Aa'isha @&W4 has already passed stating that (when he<br />
