"What are you planting?" When Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah w@!2j informed him that<br />

he was planting some plants, Rasulullaah @@$ said, "Should I not inform you <strong>of</strong><br />

plants that are better than <strong>the</strong>se? <strong>The</strong>y are ($1 (;)~)(~~ubhaanallaah'),(~ u) ('Al<br />

Hamdulillaah'), (&I.;! a!3)('~aa Ilaaha Illallaah') and ( 3 ~) ('Allaahu Akbar'). A<br />

tree in Jannah is planted for you in exchange for every one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se<br />

phrases."(')<br />

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah wWj narrates that Rasulullaah @?@ once said, "When<br />

you pass through <strong>the</strong> gardens <strong>of</strong> Jannah, eat to your fill <strong>the</strong>re." "0 Rasulullaah<br />

@%$!" <strong>the</strong> <strong>Sahabah</strong> @W&j asked, "What are <strong>the</strong> gardens <strong>of</strong> Jannah?" "<strong>The</strong><br />

Masaajid," Rasulullaah @&% replied. "And how does one eat to one's fill?" <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Sahabah</strong> i@Gm asked fur<strong>the</strong>r. Rasulullaah @@ replied, "(By reciting) Lg)<br />

(.h1('~ubhaanallaah'),(& m) ('A1 Hamdulillaah'), (~l;! ('Laa Ilaaha Illallaah')<br />

and(9 h) ('Allaahu Akbar')." (2)<br />

Rasulullaah @$ Speaks about Words <strong>of</strong> Dhikr<br />

that Shakes Off Sins<br />

Hadhrat Anas 4-4 narrates that Rasulullaah @@ once caught hold <strong>of</strong> a<br />

branch and shook it, but <strong>the</strong> leaves did not fall <strong>of</strong>f. When he shook it again, <strong>the</strong><br />

leaves still did not fall, but when he did so for <strong>the</strong> third time, <strong>the</strong> leaves fell <strong>of</strong>f.<br />

Rasulullaah k%% <strong>the</strong>n said, "Verily (~l(;)ll&(('~ubhaanallaah'),(&~) ('A1<br />

~amdulillaah'), $! ('Laa Ilaaha Illallaah') and(3~)<br />

('Allaahu Akbar')<br />

shake <strong>of</strong>f sins just as <strong>the</strong> leaves <strong>of</strong> a tree are shed." (3)<br />

Teaches Dhikr to a Bedouin<br />

Hadhrat Sa'd bin Abi Waqqaas !Bw narrates that a Bedouin once came to<br />

Rasulullaah @% with <strong>the</strong> request, "Do teach me something that I may recite."<br />

Rasulullaah @@ told him to recite:<br />

<strong>The</strong> man said, "That was for my Rabb. Now what about myself?" Rasulullaah @%%<br />

<strong>the</strong>n told him to recite:<br />

'0 Allaah! Forgive me, shower Your mercy on me, guide me and provide<br />

for me.'<br />

Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration adds <strong>the</strong> words(&l;j) ('and grant me safety'). Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration<br />

states that Rasulullaah 5 also said, "<strong>The</strong>se words combine both your life in this<br />

world as well as your life in <strong>the</strong> Aakhirah. (4)<br />
