Rasulullaah Teaches Hadhrat Abu Dardaa<br />

%@&$ some Adhkaar to be Recited after<br />

Every Salaah<br />

Hadhrat Ummu Dardaa I.%- narrates that when a man once came to Hadhrat<br />

Abu Dardaa ?%XW, he asked <strong>the</strong> man, "Will you be staying over so that we may<br />

send your animal for grazing or will you be leaving, in which case we shall give it<br />

some fodder to eat?" When <strong>the</strong> man informed him that he would be leaving,<br />

Hadhrat Abu Dardaa !3IW said, "I shall <strong>the</strong>n give you some provisions that had<br />

I any provisions better than <strong>the</strong>m, I would have certainly given <strong>the</strong>m instead. 1<br />

once went to Rasulullaah and said, '<strong>The</strong> wealthy ones have taken <strong>the</strong><br />

benefits <strong>of</strong> this world as well as <strong>the</strong> Aakhirah. <strong>The</strong>y perform salaah just as we<br />

perform salaah and<strong>the</strong>yfastjustaswe fast, but <strong>the</strong>y also donate in Sadaqah, which<br />

we cannot do.' Rasulullaah @% said, 'Should I <strong>the</strong>n not teach you something by<br />

which anyone ahead <strong>of</strong> you will be unable to beat you again and those who are<br />

still behind you will beunabletocatchupwith you unless <strong>the</strong>y do <strong>the</strong> same as you<br />

do?' Rasulullaah k%% <strong>the</strong>n told me to recite (41 &G)<br />

('Subhaanallaah') thirty-three<br />

times,(& u) ('Al Hamdulillaah') thirty-three times and(3 a) ('Allaahu Akbar')<br />

thirty-four times after every salaah." ('1<br />

Hadhrat Qataadah reports that some poor Mu'mineen once said, "0 Rasulullaah<br />

@!%! <strong>The</strong> wealthy ones have taken all <strong>the</strong> rewards. <strong>The</strong>y are able to donate in<br />

Sadaqah, while we cannot and <strong>the</strong>y are able to spend in good causes, which we<br />

are also incapable <strong>of</strong> doing." Rasulullaah asked, "Tell me if <strong>the</strong> wealth <strong>of</strong><br />

this world will be able to reach <strong>the</strong> heavens if <strong>the</strong>y are stacked one on top <strong>of</strong><br />

ano<strong>the</strong>r?" "Certainly not, 0 Rasulullaah m," <strong>the</strong>y replied. Rasulullaah <strong>the</strong>n<br />

said, "Should I not inform you <strong>of</strong> something that has its roots on earth but its<br />

branches in <strong>the</strong> heavens? It is that you recite ten times after every salaah, '<br />

(&I;!('ha Ilaaha 'Illallaah'),'(3&)(~llaahu Akbar'), ('~(41 &G)ubhaanallaahl)<br />

and (A m)'(~l ~amdulillaah')."'(~)<br />

Rasulullaah @%! Teaches Hadhrat Ali !&lGm and<br />

Hadhrat Faatima @%&#&+ a Dhikr to Recite after<br />

salaah and Before Sleeping<br />

Hadhrat Ali reports that when he married Hadhrat Faatima -,<br />

Rasulullaah &%% sent with her a blanket, a lea<strong>the</strong>r pillow filled with <strong>the</strong> bark<br />

<strong>of</strong> a date palm, two grinding stones, a water bag and two ear<strong>the</strong>n jars. Hadhrat<br />

Ali %,Gm one day said to Hadhrat Faatima CW$W, "By Allaah! Continuously<br />

drawing water from <strong>the</strong> well has caused my chest to start hurting. Allaah has sent<br />

some prisoners to your fa<strong>the</strong>r, so please go to him and request him for a<br />

servant." Hadhrat ~aatima GWi%S agreed saying, "By Allaah! Continuous grinding<br />
