Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration states that Hadhrat Ummu Is'haaq WCu,&j said, "I said, '0<br />

Rasulullaah @&! I keep weeping about <strong>the</strong> murder <strong>of</strong> (my bro<strong>the</strong>r) Is'haaq.'<br />

Rasulullaah @&? <strong>the</strong>n took a handful <strong>of</strong> water and sprinkled it on my face."<br />

Hadhrat Ummu Hakeem says, "Even when enormous tragedies struck Ummu<br />

Is'haaq BBw, you would see tears well up in her eyes, but <strong>the</strong>y never flowed on<br />

to her cheeks." (2)<br />

Protection from Rain By Du'aa<br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas @,WS reports, "Hadhrat Umar bin Khattaab<br />

WGw once instructed us to ride with him to <strong>the</strong> countryside where his tribe<br />

resided. We <strong>the</strong>n left and Ubay bin Ka'b 3Gw and I were behind <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs.<br />

When a cloud started to thunder (and rain started to pour), Ubay %,Bw made<br />

du'aa saying, 'OAllaah!Avertitshmfromus.'\hrhen we caught up wlith <strong>the</strong> rest, <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

carriages were soaking wet (while we were dry). Hadhrat Umar ,Wm asked,<br />

'Did <strong>the</strong> rain that fell on us not fall on you?' I replied, 'Abu Mundhir (Ubay S,w)<br />

prayed to Allaah to avert <strong>the</strong> harm <strong>of</strong> it from us.' 'Why did you not pray for us as<br />

well?' Hadhrat Umar %!Zw remarked." (3)<br />

A Branch is Turned into a Sword<br />

Hadhrat Zaid bin Aslam ~,G= and o<strong>the</strong>rs have narrated that when Hadhrat<br />

Ukaasha bin Mihsin !&W!2.j's sword broke during <strong>the</strong> Battle <strong>of</strong> Badr, Rasulullaah<br />

@!% gave him a branch, which transformed into a sturdy and sparkling sword<br />

while in his hand. (4)<br />

Wine becomes Vinegar By Du'aa<br />

Hadhrat Khaythama reports that a man once came to Hadhrat Khaalid bin<br />

Waleed ~,W% with a casket <strong>of</strong> wine. Hadhrat Khaalid 3SM made du'aa<br />

saying, "0 Allaah! Transform it into honey." <strong>The</strong> wine <strong>the</strong>n turned into honey.<br />

Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration states that when a man passed by Hadhrat Khaalid bin Waleed<br />

?ZdGw with a casket <strong>of</strong> wine, Hadhrat Khaalid BG5Wj asked him what it was.<br />

When <strong>the</strong> man (lied and) said that it was vinegar, Hadhrat Khaalid @Gw said,<br />

"May Allaah make it vinegar." When <strong>the</strong> people <strong>the</strong>n looked at it, <strong>the</strong>y found<br />

that it was vinegar even though it had been wine. (=)<br />

Yet ano<strong>the</strong>r narration states that when a man passed by Hadhrat Khaalid bin<br />

Waleed %@4%j with a casket <strong>of</strong> wine, Hadhrat Khaalid Ww asked him what it<br />

was. When <strong>the</strong> man (lied and) said that it was honey, Hadhrat Khaalid 3Gw<br />

said, "May Allaah make it vinegar." <strong>The</strong> man <strong>the</strong>n returned to his friends and said,<br />
