'Whoever performs six Rakaahs salaah after <strong>the</strong> Maghrib salaah will have all<br />

his sins forgiven even though <strong>the</strong>y may be as much as <strong>the</strong> foam on <strong>the</strong><br />

oceans."'(')<br />

<strong>The</strong> Salaah <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas'ood<br />

%,gwj and Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas sFI;u,$j<br />

between Maghrib and Isha<br />

Hadhrat Abdur Rahmaan bin Yazeed says, "<strong>The</strong>re was a time when 1 would always<br />

find Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas'ood 4!&34&j engaged in salaah. <strong>The</strong> time was<br />

between Maghrib and Isha. I once said to him, 'Whenever I come to you during<br />

this time, I always find you engaged in salaah (Why is this?)' He replied, 'This is a<br />

time <strong>of</strong> negligence (when people are generally negligent <strong>of</strong> ~llaah)."'(~)<br />

Hadhrat Aswad bin Yazeed reports that Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas'ood ?8Iw<br />

said, "How excellent is <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> negligence i.e, <strong>the</strong> time between Maghrib and<br />

Isha." (3)<br />

Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas k&W4&&S said, 'Verily <strong>the</strong> angels surround <strong>the</strong><br />

people who perform salaah between Maghrib and Isha, which is <strong>the</strong> Salaatul<br />

Awaabeen." (*)<br />

Giving Importance to salaah when Entering and<br />

Leaving <strong>the</strong> House<br />

Hadhrat Abdur Rahmaan bin Abu Layla 3,= narrates that when someone<br />

married <strong>the</strong> widow <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Rawaaha and asked her<br />

about some special deed<br />

that he carried out, she replied, "He would perform two<br />

Rakaahs salaah whenever he left <strong>the</strong> house and whenever he entered." (5)<br />

<strong>The</strong> Taraweeh Salaah<br />

Rasulullaah Encourages <strong>the</strong> Taraweeh salaah<br />

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah says, "Rasulullaah @ encouraged standing in<br />

(Taraweeh) salaah during Ramadhaan without emphatically commanding it (so<br />

that it should not be regarded as Fardh). He would say, 'Whoever stands in<br />

(Taraweeh) salaah during Ramadhaan with lmaan and hope. in being rewarded<br />

shall have all his previous sins forgiven."'(6) Ano<strong>the</strong>r narration adds that<br />

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah -j also said, "After Rasulullaah @@ passed away,<br />

matters remained <strong>the</strong> same during <strong>the</strong> Khilaafah <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Abu Bakr 9,G= and<br />

during <strong>the</strong> beginning <strong>of</strong> Hadhrat Umar SiU@.G3s Khilaafah." (7)<br />
