Visualization as a presentation
“Our new products or services arise from two main factors. The first one is the
customer. Customers always ask, What’s new? Can you do that? Can you do
this? 7-8 years ago, drones were introduced to help with photography, and
our clients started asking. At that time, we had just launched our architectural
photography services, both aerial and ground. So we started expanding
into a second division, Sky|Ground, from then on. That is the first factor. The
other is the scope of our interests in new technology.”

หลังจากที่เริ่มเข้ามาทำางานที่บริษัทนักสร้างภาพมือใหม่จะ
ได้ฝึกฝน ปรับพื้นฐานทั้งในเรื่องของการใช้โปรแกรม
เครื่องมือ และอุปกรณ์ต่างๆ รวมถึงการปรับพื้นฐานมุมมอง
ทางภาพเพื่อให้มองเห็นความสวยงามไปในทิศทางเดียวกัน
โดยน้องใหม่ที่เข้ามาทำางานที่ DOF ทุกคนในช่วงแรก ช่วง
ของทดลองงานจะเป็นช่วงระยะเวลาที่ทุกคนๆ จะได้รับการ
ฝึกฝนการทำางานเป็นหลัก และพวกเขาเกือบจะไม่ได้ทำางาน
จริงที่จะส่งให้กับทางลูกค้าเลย พวกเขาจะได้รับมอบหมาย
ให้ทำางานแบบเคสและเข้าห้องเรียนอย่างเดียว จนครบระยะ
เวลาสามเดือน ทางบริษัทจึงจะเริ่มมอบหมายงานที่เป็น

ลักษณะโปรเจกต์ขนาดเล็กให้ได้เริ่มลงมือจัดการ ณ จุดนี้ก็
จะสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงสิ่งที่ DOF มักจะเน้นยำ้ำอยู่เสมอ นั่นคือ
เรื่องของการเรียนรู้และการฝึกฝนที่อาจจะมีความจริงจังและ
แตกต่างจากที่อื่นๆ
“ถ้าหากนับงานในศาสตร์ที่เป็ น 3D rendering แต่
ก่อนเลยอย่างงานประเภทนี้ที่เมื่อเราทำออกมาแล้ว
เหมือนภาพถ่าย จะถูกมองว่าเป็ นงานที่มีความสวยงาม
และมีคุณภาพที่ดี แต่ว่าในตอนหลังๆ เรามองว่า แค่นั้น
ยังไม่เพียงพอเพราะว่า มันยังคงต้องมีความสวยงาม
ในแง่ของศิลปะเข้ามาผสมสานอยู่ด้วย หรือว่าภาพ
ถ่ายเข้าไปรวมอยู่ด้วย หลายๆ งานที่เราทำงานใน
ช่วงหลังก็มีลักษณะที่สมจริงและมีความสวยงามในแง่
องค์ประกอบทางด้านศิลปะ รวมถึงภาพถ่ายอีกด้วย
ต่อมาสำหรับภาพถ่ายเราเองก็จะเน้นเรื่องของการจัด
องค์ประกอบของภาพด้านสีสันและการเกลี่ยสีต่างๆ
ถ้าหากจะเรียกว่าเป็ นอัตลักษณ์ ได้ ไหมคงตอบได้ยาก
อยู่ แต่ถ้าถามว่าคนอื่นมองเราอย่างไร ผมว่าพวกเขา
มองเราในแง่ผู้นำทางด้านเทคโนโลยีที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการ
สร้างภาพ (visual technology) การทำภาพสำหรับ
การนำเสนองานออกแบบสถาปั ตยกรรม ทุกคนก็จะ
นึกถึงที่เราเป็ นที่แรกๆ ซึ ่งได้นำศิลปะกับเทคโนโลยีมา
รวมเข้าไว้ด้วยกัน”

“โปรดักส์ใหม่ๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นของเรา เกิดขึ้นจากสองปัจจัยหลัก
ปัจจัยแรกคือลูกค้า ลูกค้ามักจะถามว่ามีอะไรใหม่บ้าง? ทำา
อย่างนั้นได้ไหม? ทำาอย่างนี้ได้ไหม? โดยช่วงเวลาประมาณ
7-8 ปีที่แล้ว ได้เริ่มนำาโดรนเข้ามาช่วยในการถ่ายภาพ ลูกค้า
ก็เริ่มถามหา และในช่วงเวลานั้นเองได้ประจวบเหมาะกับการ
เปิดบริการการถ่ายภาพ ทั้งถ่ายภาพทางอากาศ และภาพ
สถาปัตยกรรมระดับภาคพื้นดินในรูปแบบปกติด้วย เราจึงเริ่ม
ขยายเปิดเป็นแผนกที่สอง ‘Sky|Ground’ ตั้งแต่ตอนนั้น และ
อีกปัจจัยก็คือขอบเขตความสนใจทางด้านเทคโนโลยีของเรา”

DOF provides a wide range of services on visualizations for presentations, ranging from
architectural photography, short films, animation, CGI, VFX, and 360-degree virtual tours
to 3D virtual tours. Even the introduction of virtual world technology such as VR (Virtual
Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) to the virtual world (Metaverse) is part of their scope
of work. Presentation by visualization of a building being constructed or objects in 3D in
any media is necessary for the sale or presentation of real estate companies, companies
selling home appliances, designers, and architects to show a realistic image of a project or
design when completed. In addition to the presentation, if we look at it in another dimension
with the visualization state, the visualization process is no different from building a virtual
architecture. Assembling plans and simulations in each view together allows the viewers
to go beyond space and time. It brings the future into the present.
“Our difference from other studios is, first of all, the scale of the
project, which is large and detailed. Our customers are usually
large companies. Secondly, about style and aesthetic, and thirdly,
which is the most important one: we can provide a good solution
to the brief, and we always understand what our clients want. We
know the quality they expect, and we deliver the work that they can
effectively use.”
The ‘VR Innovative Media Lab’ service is the latest unit in operation since 2005, focusing
on real-time interactive media and state-of-the-art display technology. This service was
created in response to customer needs, technological advancements, and the availability
of both technical and personnel resources. This next step has taken production to a higher
level, combining real-time display technology with VR (Virtual Reality) and 3D visualization.
Bangkokverse as a real-time space
As the trend of the metaverse has been widely discussed lately, DOF is one of the studios
that sees a unique potential in the new space that can be applied to the new possibilities
that connect each area. In other words, the metaverse is a virtual space in three dimensions
accessible online from anywhere in the world through one particular platform and interactions,
including having or sharing experiences. Krittapak added that this is a step forward from
the services DOF is already providing, whether VR (Virtual Reality), virtual tours, or real-time
rendering. All of this know-how is within the framework of their existing services. So, getting
involved in this new technology trend is relatively easy to cope with. It can be applied to
create an intriguing new form of presentation. All these factors led to the development of a
new virtual space platform, Bangkokverse, to provide more comprehensive support for the
currently available services for their clients. All management systems of a metaverse will be
supported by DOF and ready to operate for the project owner.
