ประโยชน์ใช้สอย<br />
ทำหน้าที่กักเก็บน้ำไว้บนที่สูงๆ เพืออาศัยแรงโน้มถ่วงของ<br />
โลกเป็นแรงดันขับเคลื่อนน้ำไปยังท่อประปา ท่อลำเลียงน้ำ<br />
ยิ่งสูงแรงดันยิ่งมาก แต่แน่นอนว่าสิ่งที่ตามมาคือน้ำหนัก<br />

เมื่อต้องแบกรับน้ำหนักปริมาณมหาศาล การออกแบบ<br />
โครงสร้างทางวิศวกรรมจึงสำคัญมาก เพื่อพยุงอาคารขนาด<br />
ใหญ่นี้ให้คงตัวอยู่ได้ เราจึงเห็นการออกแบบที่แตกต่างกันไป<br />

เมื่อยิ่งสังเกตเห็นง่าย หอเก็บน้ำจึงกลายเป็นจุดหมายตา<br />
ไปโดยปริยาย และบางครั้งเราก็ใช้มันบอกเส้นทาง<br />
Water towers are another interesting type of concrete<br />
architecture. It serves both the utility and the<br />
beauty of a large-scale structure. Such a building<br />
type has become an unrecognizably prominent<br />
landmark in the neighborhood.<br />
Utility<br />
To store water at a high level, and through gravity,<br />
the pressure propels water to the pipe. The higher<br />
the water transport pipe is, the higher the pressure.<br />
But, definitely, the consequence is the enormous<br />
weight of the water mass.<br />
Structure<br />
To bear a huge amount of weight, the structural<br />
engineering design is therefore critical to supporting<br />
the stability of this large building. There are different<br />
designs with various sizes, proportions, staircases,<br />
forms, and materials, resulting in its unique beauty.<br />
Landmark<br />
When it’s easier to notice, a water tower is therefore<br />
a landmark of the place where, occasionally, we use<br />
it to give directions.<br />
