“Concrete is one of the more cost-effective solutions compared
to other materials. It can take several forms. It can
be used as an exposed surface, revealing its true, natural
attributes. It has its own colors, neutrality, and minimality,
all of which are parts of the style of architecture that I like
to create; a mixture of wood, steel, and concrete.”

Because of the high, curved walls and the two
inner courts partitioned by the boxy mass of the
house, the living area appears enclosed and
insulated from the outside world. Looking around
at the walls, the openness and enclosure correspond
to the inner functions of the courts. The
larger court has two openings facing south. The
wall opening to the court where the parking space
is located is to the west. The east wing faces the
Khao Yai forests, with the arch line being utilized
to create the illusion that the wall is being lifted
into the air. The north-facing wall is elevated
toward the slope, matching the downward inclination
of the hillside scenery. The painstakingly
curated mix of openings and enclosures connects
the two internal courts to the surrounding woodlands.
Concerns about wild animals invading the
living space were alleviated by the addition of
extra protection, which included a landscape of
dense tree lines and water beneath the arched
opening located above ground level, making it
more difficult for wild creatures to access the
inside of the courts.
