In this case the piezocomposite hydrophones showed a flat response up to 100 kHz. This<br />

clearly demonstrates that reticulated piezocomposites can be beneficial for broadband<br />

receiv<strong>in</strong>g applications. The 22% PZT-air hydrophone is more sensitive than the 11% PZTpolymer<br />

hydrophone reach<strong>in</strong>g a value of -198 dB re 1V µPa -1 compared to the value of -218<br />

dB re 1V µPa -1 . Although the depth sensitivity of PZT-air materials may be limited due to<br />

their low mechanical strength and possible damage by crush<strong>in</strong>g, the composites may be of use<br />
