Benson et al. (1975), in a study <strong>of</strong> the coevolution <strong>of</strong> plants and herbivores,<br />

reported that Heliconius hortense is an herbivore <strong>of</strong> P. eglandulosa (misidentified<br />

as P. trinifolia). This report was confirmed by MacDougal (MacDougal, 1988).<br />
