MacDougal attempted limited (less than ten) artificial self-pollinations <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Passiflora</strong> mcvaughiana without success. However, P. mcvaughiana did cross<br />

with several other members <strong>of</strong> the supersection including P. megacoriacea, P.<br />

viridiflora, P. trinifolia, P. pallida, and P. suberosa.<br />

McCormick (1982) chromatographically screened leaf samples <strong>of</strong> P.<br />

mcvaughiana for flavonoids and did not find detectable levels <strong>of</strong> flavonol 3-O-<br />

glycosides or C-glycosylflavones.<br />
