8 Refitting is a reverse of the removal<br />

procedure. On completion, check the<br />

operation of all panel warning lamps <strong>and</strong><br />

instrument shroud switches to ensure that<br />

they are functioning correctly.<br />

1 Remove the instrument panel then proceed<br />

as described under the relevant sub heading.<br />

Instrument illumination panel<br />

Removal<br />

2 Remove the screws securing the right <strong>and</strong><br />

left-h<strong>and</strong> upper mounting brackets to the<br />

panel assembly <strong>and</strong> remove both brackets<br />

(see illustrations).<br />

3 Release the rear illumination panel<br />

bulbholder by twisting it in an anti-clockwise<br />

direction, then remove the illumination panel<br />

from the top of the instruments (see<br />

illustration).<br />

Refitting<br />

4 Refitting is a reversal of the removal<br />

procedure.<br />

Removal<br />

5 Remove the instrument illumination panel.<br />

6 Release the instrument panel cover<br />

retaining clips <strong>and</strong> lift the cover off the<br />

instrument panel case (see illustration).<br />

7 Individual instruments can now be removed<br />

separately by unscrewing their retaining<br />

screws (see illustrations). When removing<br />

the speedometer, note the foam washer<br />

which is fitted around the base of the<br />

instrument stalk.<br />

8 Refitting is a reversal of the removal<br />

procedure.<br />

Removal<br />

9 Remove the speedometer, tachometer,<br />

fuel gauge <strong>and</strong> temperature gauge from<br />

the meter case as described in paragraphs 5<br />

to 7.<br />

10 Remove all bulbholders from the rear of<br />

the case by twisting them in an anti-clockwise<br />

direction, then release the printed circuit<br />

from its retaining pins <strong>and</strong> remove it from the<br />

case.<br />

sequence.<br />
