The basic theme of the Conference was “The Preparation of Physics Majors and
Physics Teachers in Contemporary Society”. Within this theme the following subthemes
were discussed: “The Use of New Technologies in the Preparation of Physics Majors and
Physics Teachers”, “Research in Physics Education and the Preparation of Physics
Teachers”, “History and Philosophy of Science in the Preparation of Physics Teachers”,
and “New Curricula for the Preparation of Physics Majors and Physics Teachers”.
Conference activities included lectures, round tables, oral presentations, poster
sessions, workshops, working groups, and demonstrations.
The Proceedings prepared in CD-ROM include full texts of all papers presented
orally, abstracts of all papers presented in posters, as well as the abstracts of the
workshops and the list of participants.
This Final Report includes the recommendations of the working groups, approved
by the Assembly of the VII IACPE, full texts of lectures and round table presentations, as
well as the program, the list of participants and the financial account. In general, these
texts are in the languages in which they were originally presented, Portuguese, Spanish
or English. The electronic version of this Report is available at the site
http://www.if.ufrgs.br.
