Le soufflage pulsé ne détruit pas le champ moyen associé à l'allée, de Kármán. Ainsi, si le champ de vitesse obtenu avec soufflage n'est plus symétrique par rapport à l'axe horizontal, les deux tourbillons contra-rotatifs moyens associés aux tourbillons de Kármán sont toujours visibles, ceux-ci présentant toutefois une forme plus allongée. La longueur de recirculation passe ainsi de 0.54D à 0.77D. De plus, les positions des centres respectifs de ces deux tourbillons sont décalés : le centre du tourbillon supérieur est plus proche du cylindre que celui du tourbillon inférieur. Par ailleurs, un tourbillon plus petit est visible entre le point de décollement extrados et le centre du tourbillon supérieur. Ce tourbillon, centré en x 45mm et z 42mm, est associé au champ moyen du tourbillon principal généré par le jet pulsé. Il est possible de déterminer à partir de ce champ moyen de vitesse les positions moyennes des points de décollement intrados et extrados. Ainsi, alors que l'angle de séparation sans soufflage était identique entre l'extrados et l'intrados (O = O; = 109.4°), l'introduction du soufflage entraîne une dissymétrie notable puisqu'alors O = 113.4°, tandis que O; = 107.2°, soit un écart supérieur à 6 °. Cet écart des positions de décollement est tout à fait conforme à l'apparition d'une portance dirigée vers le haut. Le soufflage pulsé permet ainsi un recul moyen de 4 ° du point de décolement extrados, tout en entraînant une plus faible avancée (-2.2 °) du point de décollement intrados, par rapport au cas sans soufflage. 156 Sans Soufflage Soufflage pulsé
