LIVING ROOM LIFESTYLE SMART HOME PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT ADVERTORIAL IFA IFA Home & Entertainment Electronics AGING IN PLACE, IN COMFORT… AND SAFETY KEY SELLING POINTS 1 / Doesn’t require wearing a bracelet 2 / Detects 99% of falls – four times more efficient than nearest competitor 3 / Creates peace of mind Walabot for HOME users and their families As life expectancy averages rise, society is being confronted with numerous new notions, including “aging in place”. While aging in place is often contemplated by many and preferred by most, it also requires a good deal of planning in order for the experience to be a positive one for all involved. And at the end of the day, accidents sometimes simply happen. That’s why reliable protection is needed in the trickiest parts of the house… and this is where a fall monitoring solution comes into play. But which one? Many such solutions feature a wearable like a watch or a pendant. No matter how stylishly they’ve been designed, the truth is, these can be quite cumbersome. Plus, the user has to remember to put a wearable device on each and every day and have it on at all times, and for obvious reasons, it’s not all that practical in the bathroom either. In this case, it’s best to look for something as unobtrusive as possible, such as the Walabot HOME that has no wearables at all. What if someone falls and is unconscious? They certainly can’t push a button to notify an operator. The device needs to get in touch with an emergency contact on their behalf, no matter what condition they are in. Walabot HOME is powered by the world’s most advanced radio frequency sensor technology. Vayyar technology is so accurate that it can detect 99% of falls. When Walabot HOME detects a fall, it immediately notifies an emergency contact. The sooner help arrives, the faster treatment can be administered and the quicker your loved ones can return home » HALL 25 / STAND 244 38

LIVING ROOM LIFESTYLE HOME NETWORKS IFA My Media ADVERTORIAL BELKIN INTRODUCES NEW THUNDERBOLT DOCK AT IFA Belkin announces latest addition to Connected Things division With the trend for coworking at an all-time high, Belkin, the connected things division of Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT), has announced the global launch of its Thunderbolt 3 Dock at IFA. The launch comes at a time when both corporate offices and coworking spaces are embracing the idea of “hotel desks.” These unassigned, operating-system agnostic desks are based on the premise that employees should be able to work wherever and whenever they want without having their productivity interrupted. Recent surveys on workspace trends have shown, among other things, that: • Up until 2022, the number of coworking spaces is expected to grow at an annual rate of 6% in the United States and 13% elsewhere • In 2018, the number of co-working spaces rose 16% in the US and 36% outside the US • Europe is predicted to have 236 million square metres of flexible space in 2019, which represents a 12% annual increase Belkin says the Thunderbolt 3 Dock works well in corporate offices and co-working spaces. It features multiple ports, namely four USB-A 3.0, one USB-A 3.1, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a USB-C 3.1 port, Gigabit Ethernet, Display Port, Audio In/ Out, 85W upstream charging – for all-in-one connectivity to a Thunderbolt 3 device. It is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems and supports two 4K displays at 60Hz or one 8K display at 30Hz. Steve King from Emergent Research says co-working became an attractive concept because back when it first started to appear, it countered the pejorative views of the traditional office. In fact, just a few years ago, co-working was considered to be a “movement” or a trend, with many believing it would fade away. Fast-forward to 2019 and coworking is a full-blown industry that has disrupted the property world and the way people work. And while it can’t accurately be predicted whether the term co-working will still be used 10 years from now, as language evolves, industry terminology moves with it, and there is no denying that coworking is today’s normal. are conducive to innovation, collaboration, and productivity. Such workplaces pioneered a human approach to design, a trend which is gaining popularity among property developers, landlords, and companies. Co-working has become the expected and preferred workplace of today’s workforce. This is evidenced in the fact that large companies are increasingly seeking to enhance the workplace experience as a means of attracting and retaining talent, and that a significant percentage of workers who have the option to work from home or a coffee shop prefer to work from a co-working space. In 2018, Foxconn Interconnect Technology merged with Belkin International (Belkin, Linksys, Wemo, Phyn) to create a global consumer electronics leader. Today, this group leads in connecting people with technologies at home, at work and on-the-go » HALL 3.2 / STAND 204 There are an estimated 35,000 flexible workspaces in the world today and their global market value is estimated at around bn.
