I NEWS I ADVERTORIAL Global Product Technical Innovation Award ceremony taking place at IFA 2023 Every year, IFA Berlin offers the setting for benchmarking the most exciting product innovations in the fields of consumer electronics and home appliances, and IFA 2023 once again welcomed back the Global Product Technical Innovation Award (IFA-GPTIA). This year's prestigious ceremony, hosted by Europe Digital Group (EDG) and Asia Digital Europe (ADG) and supported by IFA, took place on Friday on the show floor. Winning companies were Bosch, Midea, LG, TCL, Panasonic, Samsung, BOE, LIEBHERR, KONKA and Miele, etc. Technology gold awards were presented by senior leaders of the organising committee and covered a range of categories including healthy air solutions, smart home applications, new display applications, and smart wearable devices, etc. From thousands of brands at home and abroad, the selection event recognises the role models of the year and provides a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the global consumer electronics sector. It also highlights innovation and changes of various brands in core technology, product design, and application as the industry embraces intelligent technology, digitalisation, and other technologies. EDG CEO Jennifer said this year's list highlights how Chinese enterprises demonstrate the innovations of “China’s intelligent manufacturing” in the world with their excellent products and “hard & core technology”. Among the 15 selected companies, four were Chinese, accounting for almost 27 per cent of winning products. Midea Air Virtuoso and Midea PortaSplit received the Healthy Air Quality Solution Technology Innovation Gold Award and Room Comfort Technology Innovation Gold Award respectively. TCL won the Smart Technology Brand Award while its FreshIN Series took home the Smart Air Purification Technology Gold Award.
