Product Trends Siemens: Greening Innovations This year Siemens’ message is energy savings with their appliances. As this has been their focus for many years, they are bringing new energy and water efficient products into the market this year. Ulrich Twiehaus, Head of marketing explains. This year, we will especially be focusing on water savings. We’re going to show dishwashing, washing machines, and a washer dryer with very low water consumption. Our new washing machine has an automatic dosage system which helps save a lot of water. We worked with an independent institute to show that our washing machine is saving more than 7,000 litres of water compared to other washing machines. The other highlight is our Siemens ecoStar2 dishwasher. This is the world record EEK rating of A-30% as it saves 0.73 kilowatt-hours. De'Longhi/Kenwood – More Flexibility … More Functions! De'Longhi/Kenwood have always focused on innovation and functional design in their products. Martin Thielmann, Marketing Director explains how this year’s new products continue this trend at the 50th IFA. With Delonghi, we will be showcasing new coffee machines, from the compact to the fully automatic machines. We will have two espresso machines that will have an automatic milk function for the first time, such as the MagnificaS that has a convenient controls to regulate the very individual coffee strength and size. There is also an energy-saving mode and it comes in a black or silver finish. Another one is a top end with an automatic milk function. Our new ECAM 23.450.B has reduced energy consumption by 70% compared to ordinary coffee machines. It also has the automatic milk function, which, with the patented cappuccino system, makes the perfect cappuccino or café latte. For Kenwood, we have the Cooking Chef, the first kitchen appliance to fully combine food preparation and induction cooking, allowing anyone to prep and cook their food at the same time. It has multiple attachments, from whisks, food processor, steamer baskets, and pasta roller, giving a new meaning to the word “multi-function”. This is a great new innovation on the market. It also won a red dot design award. IFA is truly international, thus making it the main trade show for us. We see dealers from all over the world and we get a lot of offers. We have new products in all areas. We will also have a new washer dryer that has very low water consumption. IFA is very important for us. I would say it’s the most important tradeshow that we have. For our dealers, we will have a separate area where we will be displaying all the most efficient home appliances. Also, throughout the stand, we will be displaying energy and water saving appliances. We are preparing our consumers not only to be environmentally conscious with our products, but in all aspects of their lives.
