News Around 25 select companies will be demonstrating new CE products, home appliances, mobile devices, apps, software, services and tools for work, home and play at the 2010 ShowStoppers event at IFA on the 2 Sept. That is nearly double the size of last year’s event! ShowStoppers is a the official press reception by the organizers of IFA, gfu and Messe Berlin just before the main show! If you are an IFA exhibitor, the only way to get in is by exhibiting at Showstoppers! The event gives members of the media (of whom there are thousands at IFA), the chance to talk directly with the manufacturers and to get hands-on experience with the new equipment on show. ShowStoppers Berlin is based on the ShowStopper events in the USA that have been running for years in conjunction with major shows there, filling huge ballrooms with journalists and exhibitors. The Leon brothers, who are behind these media epics, are this year running their third Berlin event, and say they are very happy with the growth in exhibitors. “There's more unders t a n d i n g o f w h a t ShowStoppers is and does”, says co-organiser Steve Leon. “It's not a new concept any more. According to Steve and Dave Leon, there is strong interest in “all things Mac and tablet” -- tracking the new iZone and eLibrary exhibits at IFA. Green issues are also more important. Mobile and wireless are also becoming increasingly important as these devices cross over from the domain of communication to becoming all-purpose entertainment devices.
