Coniopterygidae (Neuroptera) from Morocco

In 1961 I had the opportunity to visit Morocco for two months as assistant
to Prof, HÅKAN IVINDBERG and there collected some coniopterygids. The collection
compries 169 specimens belonging to twelve species six of which are
new. I know of only one species previously reported from Morocco, the brachypterous
Helicoconis maroccana Carpenter & I^estage, and this was not refound.

NAVAS has described two species from Spain, Aleuropteryx interna Navas
1911. (Bol.Soc.Aragon.Cienc.Nat. 10(12): 209-210.) and Helicoconis laufferina
Navas 1913. (Bol. Soc. Aragon. Cienc. Nat. 12(4): 85-86.) which are perhaps
synonymous with this species. They remain as nomina dubia until the types
have been examined.
Ecology: The species is confined to conifers. Both the Moroccan specimens
were captured on Juniperus.

Distribution: The species is widespread in Europe and occurs in Siberia but
has not hitherto been reported from Africa.
