and guests of <strong>Garmisch</strong>-<strong>Partenkirchen</strong> alike:<br />

Seriously spoilt for choice: 40 types of homemade broken chocolate,<br />
30 types of hand-scooped chocolate bars, drinking chocolates and 50<br />
types of filled chocolates. ‘But we also offer figurines like our new and<br />
remarkably real-looking chocolate tools’ is what the owner, Franz<br />
Kässer, tells us. His recipe for success: only the best raw materials<br />
are used to make individual chocolate creations by hand and by now<br />
there are two stores you can try them<br />
at – in <strong>Garmisch</strong>’s pedestrian zone<br />
and in <strong>Partenkirchen</strong>’s Ludwigstrasse.<br />

inspiration for new creations while<br />
he travels, to France, the N ° 1<br />
Gourmet-Nation, for example – but<br />
it’s also personal preferences and<br />
the latest trends that influence what<br />
is handed over the counters in his<br />
lovely shops. Franz Kässer smirks<br />
as he easily admits to the fact that<br />
as a salesman it can indeed be hard<br />
to resist the temptation: ‘Of course<br />
the boss has to sample his products<br />
personally!’. According to scientific<br />
studies this must make him a very<br />
happy man, many substances<br />
contained in chocolate are proven to<br />
prompt the production of happiness<br />
hormones in the brain. The dark<br />
colored ‘food for the gods’ is even<br />
said to be an aphrodisiac and to<br />
