at the Michael-Ende-Kurpark invites guests to
listen, dance and enjoy – every day, for free.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen looks back on a long
standing tradition of ‘Kurmusik’ (‘therapeutic
music’). Already in the 1930s, live concerts entertained
music enthusiasts – locals and visitors
alike – at the beautiful Kurpark. In line with this
historic tradition, the series of events ‘Musik im
Park’ (‘Music at the Park’) offers a varied program
at a high artistic level between May and September:
the musical spectrum comprises everything
from traditional Bavarian music to popular classical
music, light opera melodies to country, swing
and jazz. In 2013 there are going to be about 40
musical ensembles with more than 100 musicians
that are going to enchant the listeners once more.
What they’ll hear is traditional brass music, lively
Big Band sound with the Edi Schönach Dance
Combo and classical music with the Werdenfels’
Salonorchester – in case of bad weather this will
take place at the Richard-Strauss concert hall.
Further highlights are the special events with
renowned soloists (instrumentalists and singers) as
well as the ‘After Work Party’ that takes place every
Thursday and the ‘Musik am Mohrenplatz’ (‘Music
at Mohrenplatz’) that takes place every Saturday.
