nach Düsseldorf

foundry branch looks
towards Düsseldorf
Das Viergespann Gifa, Metec, Thermprocess
und Newcast steht ante
portas. Für die Aluminiumindustrie
und ihre Ausrüstungs- und Dienstleistungspartner
ist die Zeit vom 12. bis
16. Juni ein Höhepunkt dieses Messejahres.
Das Messemotto „The Bright
World of Metals“ ist treffend gewählt:
Die Branchenkonjunktur brummt,
die Kapazitäten sind gut ausgelastet
und auch technologisch sind die
Gießereibranche, die Hersteller von
Industrieöfen und die Metallurgiebranche
gut aufgestellt.
In der Gießereiindustrie geht der
Trend klar in Richtung höherer Komplexität,
Qualität und Wertschöpfung.
Das gilt nicht zuletzt für das Gießen
von Aluminiumwerkstoffen. Heute
sind Gießereien Entwicklungs- und
Produktpartner ihrer Kunden. Der
eigentliche Produktionsprozess, das
Gießen, ist nur noch ein Element der
längeren Wertschöpfungskette, die
vom Produktdesign und der Konstruktion
bis zur Montage und Logistik im
Kundenauftrag reicht. Immer mehr
Gießereien bieten die mechanische
Bearbeitung an, um den Kunden fertig
bearbeitete und direkt einbaufähige
Teile zu liefern. Modernste Gießereianlagen,
zunehmend IT-gestützte und
automatisierte Fertigungsabläufe, optimierte
Konstruktionen und maßgeschneiderte
Gussprodukte prägen das
Bild der Branche.
Auf der Metec präsentieren die
Hersteller von Hütten- und Walzwerkeinrichtungen
ihr Hightech-geprägtes
Leistungsprogramm. Im Mittelpunkt
werden die Themen Innovation und
Globalisierung der Märkte stehen.
Die Thermprocess ist stärker als in
früheren Jahren international geprägt,
doch kommen die meisten Austeller
nach wie vor aus Deutschland – der
seit langem führenden Nation in der
Thermprozesstechnik. Auch hier geht
der Trend vom reinen Anlagenbau zu
Dienstleistungen, die die Integration
des Industrieofens in die bestehende
Prozesskette des Kunden, die Schulung
des Bedienpersonals und die
Wartung einschließen.
Inmitten dieser Themen wird sich
der Giesel Verlag mit seinem Verlags-

The foursome of Gifa, Metec, Thermprocess
and Newcast is fast approaching.
For the aluminium industry and
its equipment and service partners
the time between 12 and 16 June will
be a high-point of this year of trade
fairs. The fair’s motto: “The Bright
World of Metals” was an appropriate
choice – trade in the branch is
lively, capacity workloads are good
and technologically too the foundry
branch, manufacturers of industrial
furnaces and the metallurgy branch
are all doing well.
In the foundry industry there is
a clear trend towards greater complexity,
quality and added value.
This applies, not least, to the casting
of aluminium materials. Nowadays
foundries are also development and
product partners for their customers.
The actual production process, casting,
is only one link in a much longer
value addition chain demanded by
the customer, which extends from
product design and production to
assembly and logistics. More and
more foundries now also undertake
mechanical machining so as to supply
their customers with finish-machined
components ready for direct
fitting. The most modern foundry
plants, increasingly IT-supported and
automated production sequences, optimised
designs and tailor-made cast
products are the outstanding features
of the branch image today.
At Metec, manufacturers of smelter
and rolling mill equipment will be displaying
their performance range characterised
as it is by high-tech. The focus
will be on innovation and globalisation
of the markets. Thermprocess
will have a much more international
flavour than in previous years, even
though most exhibitors will still come
from Germany – which has long been
the leading country for thermal process
technology. Here too the trend is
towards the provision of services that
include integration of the industrial
furnace into the customer’s existing
production chain, the training of operating
personnel and maintenance.
In the midst of all these subjects
