In 1972, Helmut Vetter’s connection to history and tradition
led him to purchase the »Untere Mang« house, which
was classified as a historical monument and protected, from
the »Konsumverein Oberschwaben«. His reasons: The unique
history and location of the building. Helmut Vetter’s ties to
Ravensburg were evident in the following foreword written for
a 1993 brochure for the house:
»Those who grew up in Ravensburg have a special connection
to its old walls, towers and gates. To alleys and streets in
which festivals took place, that one participated in as a schoolboy,
drummer and alumnus. One was integrated in the city
and its history, experienced the views from the towers, walkways
…«
Im Haus »Untere Mang« befindet sich heute das
Vetter Medi-Center. Es findet ein reger interdisziplinärer Austausch
zwischen den »Bewohnern« statt: Vetter-Apotheke,
Facharztpraxen, Hebammenpraxis und Optikergeschäft. In
regelmäßigen Abständen werden öffentliche Veranstaltungen
und Vorträge zu Gesundheits- und Fitnessthemen organisiert.
Pläne für die weitere Zukunft sind geschmiedet.
The Vetter Medi-Center is located today in the house
known as »Untere Mang«. There is a lively interdisciplinary
exchange between the »inhabitants«: Vetter Pharmacy, specialist
doctors’ offices, a midwife’s practice and an optician’s.
Public events and lectures on the subject of health and fitness
are organized at regular intervals. Plans for the upcoming
future have been drawn up.
