As of mid-2007, the company presented its comprehensive
service in an updated customer address with the slogan: »More
than filling.« This statement reflected the successful full-service
approach, which had been launched at the beginning of the new
millennium.
In 2007, Vetter was also accredited as a foreign manufacturer
by Japan’s Ministry for Health, Labor and Welfare. It
received official certification in the pharmaceutical services segment
for the categories drugs/sterile products, drugs/packaging/
labeling and storing as well as medical products/sterile medical
products. The certificates state that the company’s facilities
meet the quality and safety standards issued by the Japanese
Ministry of Health. This means that since the end of 2007,
Vetter has been allowed to fill and package drugs of Japanese
pharmaceutical and biotech companies for the Japanese market.
Before then, only foreign firms with a subsidiary in Japan
could be supplied. The accreditation means that Vetter now has
direct access to the world’s third largest pharmaceutical market,
which is a real boost to its competitiveness.
But with all the changes in structure and services over the
past years, maintaining the company’s continuity in the spirit of
Helmut Vetter always stood at the forefront. This state of affairs
is guaranteed by the presence of two trustees, who were tasked
with upholding the life’s work of the founder. After Helmut
Vetter’s death in 1999, the positions were held by Klaus Schönwetter
and Jenik Radon.

After 35 years at Vetter, Klaus Schönwetter took a welldeserved
retirement in 2007. Together with Jenik Radon, he had
acted as a trustee and fiduciary for the company.
The two men indefatigably supported the expansion of the
company and made sure that Vetter remained an independent,
family-run service provider. When Klaus Schönwetter started
working at the company in 1972, it was already thriving and
aspiring. Over the years, he held a variety of leading positions
in procurement, planning and sales. In 1980, he became commercial
head of the company and in 1993, Senior Managing
Director. As a close confidant of Helmut Vetter, he did outstanding
work for 35 years. He contributed an enormous amount to
the fact that Vetter enjoys the highest recognition today in the
pharmaceutical industry.
Jenik Radon retired from his position as a trustee at the same
time as Klaus Schönwetter. Jenik Radon came to the company
through the American distribution subsidiary Vetter Pharma-
Turm Inc., which he had founded together with Udo J. Vetter.
He has since worked as an attorney for Vetter. In addition to being
an adviser to the company, Jenik Radon has a professorship
at the renowned Columbia University. Through his work, he did
a great deal to impress upon the company an understanding of
modern risk and know-how management.
