RVS surpassed all previous expectations as Vetter’s most significant
commitment to the future and its largest investment. So
it is hardly surprising that it attracted the attention of the state’s
political sector . In the summer of 2005, the Minister President
of Baden-Württemberg, Günther Oettinger, visited the company
and its new facility. He appeared deeply impressed by the
»fabulous development« that had marked Vetter in recent years
and he paid tribute to the company’s dedication to generating
new jobs in the region.
While progress was being made at the RVS facility, the company
was also coming to grips with another large-scale project,
the final construction phase at Langenargen. By the middle of
the year, the supply systems for water, power and the media
were already in place. The finishing of the new clean rooms and
the machines for the vial line was also on schedule. By the end
of 2005, after a building period lasting 18 months, the facility
in Langenargen had a new look. The last construction measures
concerned the new laboratories, the canteen and reception
areas, and the parking lot and the outdoor facilities.
The company responded to increasing customer demand for
a new technology by constructing a new filling line for syringes
that were already washed, sterilized and siliconized by the
supplier. After a successful validation process, the new filling
line was able to begin operating in April 2006. This new line,
together with the VLA 5 line for vials in Langenargen, expanded
the Vetter portfolio. It could now offer pharmaceutical and
biotech companies manufacturing for all standard injection systems.
One more major building block of the full-service strategy
had thus been implemented.
Vetter has never rested on its laurels. And so the year 2006
was marked by further projects and the steadfast improvement
of processes and structures. Where quality and safety are
concerned, the company put a broad risk management system
in place to optimize its quality management. One element of the
additional improvements in this area was the introduction at all
sites of the Class D* clean room, a new and stricter classification
system for the delivery areas. During the summer maintenance,
measures were taken to revamp and optimize the introduction
of materials. The project highlighted Vetter’s high standards of
quality and safety. Furthermore, the »Operational Excellence
Class A« certification for consistently aligning the entire value
chain to the needs of the customer was renewed. Vetter received
the certification in 2005 for the first time.
