NEVfTYLE is a parish and village—<strong>the</strong> latter<br />
situated about 11 miles from Dundee and 2i from<br />
Meigle, and is a station on <strong>the</strong> Caledonian and <strong>the</strong><br />
Dundee and Newtyle Eailways. In <strong>the</strong> summer<br />
season it has many visitors from Dundee and district,<br />
<strong>the</strong> scenery in <strong>the</strong> neighbourhood being very fine.<br />
The village is supplied with gas from works <strong>of</strong> Mr.<br />
Eobert Thomas, artificial manure manufactiu-er.<br />
The places <strong>of</strong> worship are Established, Free, and<br />
United Presbyterian Churches, and <strong>the</strong>re are Board<br />
Schools in <strong>the</strong> village.<br />
KETTINS is a parish 1| miles from Coupar Angus<br />
and 4 from Newtyle, situated partly in Perthshire<br />
and ]3artly in Forfarshire. The parish church<br />
is <strong>the</strong> only place <strong>of</strong> worship, and <strong>the</strong>re is a Board<br />
School. The castle <strong>of</strong> Pitcur, now in ruins, is one<br />
mile south <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> church.<br />
