Church. There are many very fine board schools in
the town and parish. Small debt and police courts
are held occasionally.
POET GORDON is a village about two miles from
Buckie, and has a good harbom-, provided by the
Duke of Eichmond and Gordon in 1874, who is owner
of the village. There are here 60 large boats for
herring fishing and six for white fishing, also fish
curing establishments.
GOLLACHIE, the property of Gordon of Cluny,
and Port Tannacliie, belonging to A. Steuart, Esq., of
Auchlunkart, forms pai't of the village of Port
Gordon.
POETESSIE is a fishing village, about a mile east
from Buckie. Here are about 100 fishing boats.
