ERROL (Perthshire),<br />

ABEENYTE, INCHTUEE, KILSPINPIE, KINNAIED, AND BAINT MADOES.<br />

EEEOL, PertlisMre, is a parist and village, situated<br />

in <strong>the</strong> catse <strong>of</strong> Go-wrie, about 10 miles from Dundee<br />

and 18 from Perth, and is a station on <strong>the</strong> Perth and<br />

Dundee line <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Caledonian Eailway. The village<br />

is situated on a hill, and <strong>the</strong> parish church, with its<br />

fine tower, can be seen from many parts <strong>of</strong> Perthshire<br />

and Fifeshire at a great distance. There is also a<br />

Free church and one for United Presbyterians. There<br />

is a fine Board School, The village is small, consisting<br />

<strong>of</strong> one street. The inhabitants are chiefly<br />

employed in agiiculture ; <strong>the</strong>re are brick, chemical,<br />

and implement works, and a branch <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Union<br />

Bank <strong>of</strong> <strong>Scotland</strong>.<br />

Abernyte, Inchture, Kilspindie, Kinnaird, and St.<br />

Madoes are agricultural parishes in Perthshire,<br />

averaging about 4 miles from Errol.<br />
