LONGSIDE, also an agricultural parishUn^Buclian,<br />

contains tlie village and railway station <strong>of</strong> its name,<br />

<strong>the</strong> village is about 30 miles north <strong>of</strong> Aberdeen, 6<br />

west <strong>of</strong> Peterhead, and 4 from Old Deer. There^is an<br />

Established Chiu?ch, an Episcopal Chapel, a Free<br />

Church, and a parochial school in <strong>the</strong> village ; a new<br />

school has also been erected for girls. The village <strong>of</strong><br />

Mintlaw, in this parish, is 3 miles from Longside, on<br />

<strong>the</strong> road leading from Aberdeen and Fraserburgh ; it is<br />

also a station on <strong>the</strong> Great <strong>North</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Scotland</strong> Railway.<br />

Fairs are held at Mintlaw on <strong>the</strong> second Tuesday in<br />
